Oostburg's first Kwik Trip opens this week

His son, Scott Zietlow will become President and CEO of the company, beginning January 1st, 2023. Kwik Trip has approximately 800 locations across the midwest including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan.

In 2000, the Zietlow family became the sole owner of Kwik Trip, Inc.

Kwik Trip makes almost all of its products on-site at its 90-acre La Crosse campus. At the Kwik Trip Dairy, workers churn the company's own brand of ice cream, bottle their own milk, and even manufacture their own plastic jugs.

Our dairy facilities receive delivery from an average of 15 milk trucks per day from local farms in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. We proudly support our dairy farms and all the hardworking Midwest cows! They provide our tasty milk, used exclusively in all our ice cream flavors.

According to reports, there are 873 Kwik Trip locations in 6 states and territories of the United States. The highest number of Kwik Trip locations in the US are in Wisconsin and Madison with 507 locations and 21 stores, respectively. Wisconsin makes up approximately 58% of all Kwik Trip locations in the United States.

Zietlow, President and CEO of Kwik Trip, announces retirement after 22 years as President and CEO, and 52 with the company. According to a press release from the gas station chain, Zietlow's retirement is effective at the end of the year, December 31, 2022.

Did you know the first Kwik Trip store opened in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟱? The first store in La Crosse opened in 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟭 followed by their corporate offices opening there in 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟯. By 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟯, the chain grew to 50 stores. Then three years later in 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟲, the chain grew to 100 stores.

It was recently confirmed that two Kwik Trip convenience stores are planned for south Fargo. Now, public records in the Fargo-Moorhead area indicate two other Kwik Trip locations are possible in Fargo, as well as one each in Moorhead and Dilworth.
