Mr. Geronimo was a longtime Public School Teacher at Hunter Elementary in Kensington (60s-90s), and taught English at Clinch Valley College in Wise, Virginia. John was born in Manhattan; son of the late Dominic and Dorothy (Baker) Gerolamo.
Graduating from the High School of Commerce in New York City, John would go onto to attend The University of Pennsylvania, Temple University ('55 '72), the University of Virginia, and become a Fulbright Scholar ('76). For many years John volunteered his culinary skills at MANNA, sang with The Spruce Street Singers, and was patron to many PhiladelphiaArt and Cultural Organizations. A longtime resident of Washington Square West, John was known for his extensive knowledge, and love of music, literature, art. He took great pleasure in food, drink, and the gathering of friends. He is survived by husband, Steven Gianfrancesco, nieces Patricia Seitz and Maria Vassar, nephew Richard Geronimo Jr, and many great friends.
